Your Brain Is Lazy! 3 Ways To Break Your Limited Thinking
Your mind is lazy and loves to take shortcuts whenever it can.
This should scare you.
Mental shortcuts are usually helpful. They save you energy and stop you wasting your thinking effort. Shortcuts make you efficient in making decisions and processing information.
But mental shortcuts can also lead you to miss opportunities.
Your mind loves to ponder the future. It would be too exhausting to consider every single possibility. So it takes a shortcut.
And this limits your life.
Your big problem is this:
Your mind assumes your future will be an extension of your past. When thinking about your future it excludes anything radically different. Without realising it, your mind is limiting you from growing too much.
If you currently earn £20,000, your mind thinks about how you could earn a bit more. But it doesn’t entertain the possibility of a £100,000 income.
You run a youth project that helps 10 people and you think about growing it. Your mind starts to think about helping 15 young people, it doesn’t consider how to impact 1000 people.
Can you see how this works?
